Privacy Policy

Minuta records a meeting, transcribes it, and writes the minutes. It is built so that this happens on your device. There is no account, no sign-in, and no server belonging to us that your recordings pass through.
Who is responsible
Minuta is made and published by Claudio D’Antonoli, an independent developer. For anything in this policy, write to support@minuta.work. Where data protection law uses the word controller, that is us for the little we hold, and you for the content of your own meetings.
What we do not do
These are commitments, not omissions. Minuta:
- has no account, no sign-up and no password;
- never listens in the background or ambiently. The microphone opens when you start a recording and closes when you stop it;
- creates no voiceprint and performs no biometric speaker identification. Speakers are named by you, by hand;
- collects no location of any kind;
- contains no advertising identifier, no advertising network and no tracking;
- sells no personal information and shares none for advertising or profiling.
What stays on your device
Recordings, transcripts, minutes, bookmarks and speaker names are stored in the app's own private storage on your device. On iPhone, iPad and Mac, audio files live in Application Support and any keys or tokens you enter are held in the system Keychain. On Android, audio files live in the app’s private files directory and keys are encrypted with a key that never leaves the Android Keystore. Deleting the app removes all of it.
Speech recognition runs on the device: Apple’s on-device speech framework on Apple devices, Android’s on-device speech recognition on Android. The default minutes generation also runs on the device. Neither sends your audio or your transcript anywhere.
Device backups
This is the flow people miss, so it is worth stating plainly. If you have iCloud Backup switched on, or you back up to a computer, the app’s container is included, and that means your recordings and transcripts are in the backup. That copy is held under your own Apple Account, encrypted, and governed by Apple’s terms. We have no access to it and never see it.
We keep recordings in the backup deliberately, so that a lost or replaced device does not cost you a meeting you cannot re-record. If you would rather they were not backed up, turn Minuta off in your device’s iCloud Backup settings.
On Android, Minuta opts out of Google’s app backup, so recordings and transcripts are not copied to your Google account. They leave the device only when you export or share them.
Permissions
Microphone: to record, and only while you are recording. Notifications, on Android: to show the recording that is running in the background so it can be stopped from the notification. Network access is used only for the optional cloud providers and connected apps described below.
What can leave your device, and only if you ask
Two features send data outward. Both are off until you turn them on, and the app says so at the moment it happens.

In both cases the data goes directly from your device to the provider you chose. It does not pass through us, and we keep no copy. What that provider then does with it is governed by their terms, not ours.
Reminders
If you export action items to Reminders on an Apple device, they are written to your own Reminders database on your device or in your iCloud account. Nothing is sent to us. On Android, action items are shared as text through the share sheet; no reminders database is touched.
Training of AI models
We do not train models and we have no data with which to train them. When you use your own key with a cloud provider, that provider’s published terms decide whether your content may be used for training. At the time of writing the major providers exclude paid API traffic from model training, but that is their commitment to you, not ours, and you should read the terms of the provider whose key you use.
What the app collects
Nothing. Minuta contains no analytics, no advertising identifier, no crash reporting service and no third-party SDKs. We do not know who you are, whether you use the app, or what is in your meetings.
The launch list on this website
If you leave your email address on this website to hear about the launch, that address is stored on Cloudflare, along with the time and the browser string your browser sent. It is used once, to tell you that Minuta is out, and it is never sold or passed on. Write to support@minuta.work to be removed.
What Apple or Google may tell us
If you have switched on sharing of analytics and crash data with developers in your device settings, Apple may pass us aggregated crash reports and usage counts through App Store Connect, and Google may do the same through the Play Console. These arrive already aggregated, are not linked to you, and never contain your recordings, transcripts or minutes. Turning that setting off on your device stops it.
Purchases
Subscriptions and the lifetime unlock are handled by Apple through the App Store, and on Android by Google through Google Play. We never see your payment details. The store tells the app only whether an entitlement is active.
One point of honesty about the lifetime unlock: lifetime means for as long as Minuta is published and maintained. It is not tied to your lifetime, and it is not a promise that the app will exist forever. Your recordings stay on your device whatever happens to a subscription; letting one lapse never deletes anything.
Keeping and deleting
- Your content. It is yours and it is local. Delete a meeting in the app and it is gone from the device. Deleting the app removes all of it. Export what you want to keep as text or PDF first.
- The launch list. Your address is kept until Minuta launches and we have written to you once, or until you ask to be removed, whichever comes first.
- Support email. We keep the correspondence for as long as it takes to resolve the matter, and at most twelve months after that, then delete it.
- Everything else. There is nothing else. We hold no profile, no identifier and no history of your use of the app.
Security
Data on the device is protected by the operating system’s file encryption, which is tied to your device passcode. Keys and tokens are held in the Keychain on Apple devices and encrypted under an Android Keystore key on Android. Connections to cloud providers and connected apps use encrypted transport. There is no server of ours holding anyone’s meetings. If you find a security problem, write to support@minuta.work.
Your rights
If you are in Switzerland, the United Kingdom or the European Economic Area, you have the right to ask for access to your personal data, and to have it corrected, deleted or provided in a portable form, and to object to or restrict its processing. If you are in California, Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Texas or another United States state with a privacy statute, you have comparable rights, including the right to know and the right to delete.
The only personal data we hold is an email address, if you gave us one for the launch list, and any support correspondence. Your meetings never reach us. What you can do yourself, without asking:
- Access and portability. Everything from the app is in the app. Export any meeting as text or PDF.
- Deletion. Delete a meeting, or delete the app.
- Withdrawing consent. Remove a provider key or disconnect a work app in Settings. Both stop immediately.
For the launch list or support email, write to support@minuta.work and we will answer within thirty days. The legal bases we rely on are the contract between us for providing the app you bought, your consent for the launch list and for the optional transfers described above, and our legitimate interest in answering your support messages. If you believe we have handled something wrongly, you may complain to your national data protection authority.
Where the launch list is stored
Launch list addresses are held on Cloudflare’s network, which is distributed across several countries, so the record may sit in a data centre outside your own. Nothing else of yours is transferred internationally by us, because nothing else reaches us. When you choose to use a cloud provider or a connected work app, your data travels from your device to that company under the account and terms you agreed with them.
Children
Minuta is a working tool for adults. It is not directed at children, we do not knowingly process the data of anyone under sixteen, and there is no sign-up through which a child could give us anything.
Recording other people
Laws about recording a conversation differ from place to place, and in many of them everyone present must be told or must agree. Minuta does not decide this for you. Recording other people is your responsibility.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it.
